The BIA “phase angle sensing” analyzes performed by Akern devices offer the highest possible accuracy in measurements of physical values such as resistance, reactance and phase angle.
Bioelectrical values can be used to perform quantitative estimates of the various body segments (conventional BIA), qualitative assessments with Hydragram®, Nutrigram® and BIVA Analysis. In addition to total body total measurements, the BIA 101 Anniversary also performs the Bodyscan ™ analysis to detect and estimate the distribution of muscle mass in the body. Using a special 8-wire method, Bodyscan ™ provides simultaneous bioelectrical readings of 8 body regions: left and right, upper, limbs (right and left upper limbs), lower and upper body, lower limbs (right and left lower limbs).

1– The usefulness of muscle mass assessment is an interesting added value in many fields: athletic training, physical therapy and rehabilitation, sports medicine, aesthetic medicine.
2– The application of the Bodyscan technique is generally associated with the resolution of issues related to muscular exhaustion (physiotherapy, rehabilitation), training control and nutritional monitoring
